Low Lane Cafe sits quietly opposite the DVLA test centre in Horsforth, offering more than your average grab-and-go spot. This cafe balances fresh, home-cooked meals with a casual, unpretentious vibe that fits neatly into the rhythms of Leeds locals’ busy days. It’s the kind of place where you might stop during a lunchtime errand or after a morning appointment to refuel with something both satisfying and straightforward.

The menu leans into fresh Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences, with standout items like falafel wraps, Persian-style sausages, and homemade samosas. Portions are generous without feeling heavy, perfect for those who want a bit of variety or a quick bite that still feels like a proper meal. The food clearly carries a personal touch — the falafel and samosas in particular come across as freshly made with care rather than mass-prepped.

Atmosphere here is friendly and grounded. The owner’s passion for the food shows, and this is reflected in the relaxed, welcoming interactions you’ll have behind the counter. It’s a place locals appreciate for consistent quality and value, where pricing feels fair and the portion sizes generous, a practical benefit for anyone juggling the routines of work or family nearby.

Because the cafe occupies a quiet lane, it’s especially handy during midday when the nearby offices and services send people looking for a straightforward, freshly prepared lunch. There’s less of the usual cafe hustle, so it suits those after something a bit calmer, whether popping in solo or with a partner. Outdoor seating is limited, so it’s mainly a stop-in spot rather than a lingering destination, but the inviting atmosphere encourages return visits.

Low Lane Cafe is best for anyone who appreciates honest, home-style Mediterranean food without pretence, served by someone who clearly cares about quality and customer experience. It fits neatly into the local landscape of Horsforth as a low-key but dependable spot for a quick, wholesome bite.

If there was a higher star than 5, that would be what I would pick, the food was absolutely delicious, me and my partner got half falafel and half Persian sausage baguette as this is what the owner recommended and wowee I'm glad we did. Defo making this place a new regular when in need of good home cooked food. The owner was really friendly and helpful, couldn't recommended more!

New to area so tried this little place. Owner was very nice and passionate about food. He recommended Persian sausage gyro (I think it was called this). Big portion, fresh salad and delicious. I noticed all samosas were freshly made also so I’ll have to try these next time.

The nicest Iranian man serving absolutely DELICIOUS food. Would really recommend the falafel wrap/baguette. Food is super cheap and he could definitely charge a £ or 2 more for how hardworking he is and how good the food is.

I tried the food today and I could not fault it, the chicken gyro was very tasty and plenty of it, we also got a sample of the homemade falafel / samosa, both were also spot on, the falafel was one of the best I’ve eaten, the owner is a real gentleman, I highly recommend visiting,. The prices are very good and u get a lot for ur money. What a little gem

I had to take my wife to an appointment and needed food, came across this little beauty. I have a pork sensitivity so bacon etc I generally avoid. In this gem They sold a persian sausage which is beef. The gentleman also offered me a sample of his falafel samosa, home made and Falafel bites OMG!! All I can say is that if your passing Low Lane opposite the DVLA test centre, pop in, it's a game changer!

First time at this cafe - the best homemade falafel in Leeds! Gorgeous wraps included in a very cheap meal deal with delicious homemade samosas and a drink for £6.50. You can’t go wrong and we’ll definitely be back!

Amazing sandwiches, would call this place a corner of authentic Persian street food. Their falafel sandwich is absolutely amazing. Lovely owners, very kind and welcoming.

Lovely owner, he gave me a couple of free samosas to try while I waited for my food. I got the falafel gyros which was really nice, some of the best falafels I’ve ever had and the salad inside was delicious. The chips and garlic sauce inside wasn’t to my taste, felt a bit heavy on top and took away from the gorgeous flavours of the falafel and salad, so I’d ask for less chips. Overall a very nice experience.
